Albert Bellamy
Albert Bellamy is a recovering US Marine, transitioning frantically to civilian life and trying to carve out a place in this crazy data world. During a military career that took him from Private to Major, spanning continents and oceans, combat zones, and warships, he always found time to crunch the numbers. “I’m the only Marine who smiles when he sees a spreadsheet,” he says. Albert spent nine years working in logistics and supply chain analytics, working with an archaic DOS-based computer system and translating reams of code for military leadership. Readying fleets of aging trucks and howitzers for combat was an inherently analytical challenge. After ten years he switched to field artillery, again applying analytics to solve combat problems in Iraq and Afghanistan. He spent three years analyzing the Marine Corps’ manpower retention campaigns. He earned a Masters’s in Analytics from Naval Postgraduate School. Now he is serving his final year in the Marine Corps and working for Silvertone Analytics, analyzing social media data for their podcast/video channel. He appears regularly on the channel, interviewing luminaries such as Christina Stathopoulos, Angela Baltes, and Thom Ives. He is a firm believer in the power of enthusiastic online networking, engagement, and content creation. He is busy planning his next foray into the data analytics world.
